Design your life – Create a wish list.

Hey!

This’ll just take a minute. Well, actually, just 4 minutes.

Lewis Carroll once wrote “Any road will get you there, if you don’t know where you are going”.

When is the last time you wrote a wish list. Let’s do it now. The first step to getting what you want is to write it down.

Harvard University did a study on its 1979 MBA graduates around one simple question: did they have written goals and a clear plan to achieving them. The answers were surprising. The results 10 years later were astonishing.

Take 2 minutes now to write down as many goals, dreams, wishes and wants as you can. No matter how big or how small. I dare you, in fact, I bet you can’t get your list to more than 10. If you can, then I double-dare you to share them below in the comments. You’ll be surprised how many people share similar goals.

Back to the Harvard study. 1979 graduate students were asked “have you set clear, written goals for your future and made plans to accomplish them?”

  • Only 3% had written goals and plans

  • 13% had goals but not in writing

  • 84% had no goals at all

Ten years later, the same group were interviewed again and the result was mind-blowing:

  • The 13% of the class who had goals, but did not write them down was earning 2x the 84% who had no goals.

  • The 3% who had written goals were making, on average, 10x as much as the rest of the class combined!

Start working on those goals.

ps. Next, we’ll add some power to the list.
